Executive Chef, John Kolesar joined Ocean House in 2010, bringing with him more than 10 years of experience at world-class restaurants and catering companies. His eclectic variety of culinary endeavors range from food preparation for a 1,200-seat theater, Executive Catering Chef at Amalfi and even a brief stint as a Beverage Manager.
Growing up in coastal Connecticut, Chef John developed a deep appreciation for cuisine at a young age. It only seemed natural to further explore his interest in culinary arts at neighboring Johnson & Wales University where he refined his skills and fell head-over-heels with the business of the kitchen.
Chef John’s New England roots inspire an unmistakable sense of place reflected in the farm-to-table cuisine for which Ocean House is known. Fresh, locally grown ingredients and long standing relationships with the area’s farmers play a leading role in the development of Chef John’s ever-changing, seasonally inspired menu. A fusion of Portuguese, Mediterranean and classic Atlantic Northeast flavors create unforgettable dining experiences at all five fine and casual dining outlets at the resort.
